The Explora Iquitos 03 days experience is undoubtedly the opportunity to disconnect from the world in a natural way. During our tour, we explore the lush Amazon rainforest and immerse ourselves in the fascinating culture of the region. We will understand that we are in one of the most beautiful and biodiverse places in the Peruvian Amazon, where you will have the opportunity to spot wild animals such as river dolphins, monkeys, sloths and caimans.

EXPLORE IQUITOS 03 DAYS – 02 NIGHTS

DAY 01: AMAZON RIVER – PAICHE HATCHERY

Our experience begins with our meeting either at the Iquitos airport or at the hotel where you are staying. First we take a pedestrian city tour, to see some of the attractions of the city. Afterwards, we will go to our private pier to board the fast boat that will take us to the beautiful lodge in the middle of the jungle. On the way, we will have the opportunity to observe the floating houses and the union of the Itaya and the majestic Amazon rivers, as well as different villages settled on its banks. We will make a stop to visit the Paiche Hatchery, observe the impressive aquatic plant “Victoria Regia”, a caiman hatchery and to enjoy a refreshing coconut water or soft drinks. 

We will arrive at the lodge where we will welcome you with a typical drink and assign you a personal bungalow. After the typical lunch, we will have time to relax and enjoy the refreshing pool. At 15:00 pm we will take a walk to learn about the plants and trees with medicinal properties used by the locals to cure their ailments and ailments, such as Sangre de Grado, Chirick Sanango, Uvos, Uña de Gato, Ajo Sacha, Pichirina and Clavo Huasca. If weather conditions permit, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful sunset from a privileged place. After dinner, we will go on an exciting canoe paddle or jungle hike, depending on the river season, and then return to rest at the lodge.

DAY 02: JUNGLE LODGE – NIGHT EXCURSION

Our second day in the Amazon rainforest begins with an exciting morning activity to observe a great variety of birds in their natural habitat. After the walk, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast to replenish energy and continue with a hike into the jungle to see the giant trees of the region, including the impressive and voluptuous Ceiba (Lupuna) and other varieties of timber trees that are part of the flora and fauna of the place. 

The approximate duration of this hike will be 4 hours and, at the end, we will return to the lodge for a traditional lunch. In the afternoon, we will take a tour along the Amazon River and visit an artisanal Trapiche, where you will have the opportunity to participate in the extraction of sugar cane juice, used by the local inhabitants to produce derivatives such as sugar cane rum and molasses. At night, we will have an exciting excursion where you can listen to the sounds of the rainforest and observe tarantulas, insects or simply enjoy the endless sounds of the night. Finally we return to the lodge to enjoy our dinner and spend the night.

DAY 03: JUNGLE LODGE – MONKEY ISLAND – IQUITOS

Our last day begins with a delicious breakfast. Then we will visit a riverside villager to learn about their customs and daily life, and then return to the lodge to pack up, enjoy our lunch and say goodbye to the whole team, on the way back to the city we will visit the impressive private conservation project called “Monkey Island”. Here, you will see several species of endangered monkeys, such as the Choro Monkey, the Spider Monkey, the Howler Monkey, the Tocon and Musmuky Monkey, and the Red and Black Huapo Monkey. 

• Finally we arrive in Iquitos for transfer to the hotel or airport, ending this exciting trip.

• We end our experience back in the city of Iquitos.

• Briefing: One day before the service, a meeting is held at the hotel where we will have a complete orientation about the experience.

• Professional guide: A professional tour guide specialized in wildlife and nature tourism, with English and Spanish skills.
• Tourist transportation: An ideal transportation from Iquitos – Port – Iquitos.
• Specialized transportation: Motorized boat that will help us cross the river and get to the lodge.
• Jungle Lodge: 02 nights in a comfortable ecological lodge with all services included and breakfast the next day (Ask for the accommodation you want).
• Food: Includes all food services during the stay (no drinks).
• Complete equipment: Complementary equipment for the activities (boots, flashlights, binoculars and others).

OUR PROGRAM DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Meals: Food not mentioned in the itinerary.
• Extra expenses: Some expenses such as purchase of handicrafts, clothes or drinks, are also not included in the tour. Tips are also not included and are voluntary.
• Travel insurance: This is extremely important to enjoy a safe trip.
