Description
DESCRIPTION
The Andean marriage ceremony is an ancestral tradition that honors the union of two people as a sacred celebration. The ceremony is performed outdoors and begins with an offering to Pachamama, Mother Earth, to request her blessing and protection for the couple. The exchange of gifts is a key component of the ceremony, with the giving of sacred objects such as the coca leaf, which represents communion and trust in the couple. Then, the sacred drink, chicha, is exchanged as a sign of commitment and a dance is performed by the couple in a circle with live music.
The Andean marriage ceremony is an emotionally deep and meaningful experience that connects the couple with their cultural and ancestral heritage, and is a unique way to celebrate love and commitment.
