A cooking class tour in Cusco is an enriching experience that allows visitors to immerse themselves in Peruvian culinary culture. During the tour, you visit a local market to learn about the fresh and diverse ingredients used in Peruvian cuisine, and learn about the importance of gastronomy in Andean culture. Then, you head to a traditional kitchen where an expert chef guides the cooking class, teaching you how to prepare typical Peruvian dishes such as ceviche, lomo saltado or aji de gallina. 

Participants have the opportunity to cook and taste their own dishes, and learn useful techniques and tips that they can apply in their own kitchens. In addition, the class is a fun and social experience, where participants can share with other travelers and learn about Peru’s culture and history through gastronomy.

Itinerary

HALF DAY COOKING CLASSES

  • 09:00 – 10:00 Our meeting is at the San Pedro market where we will have a brief tour of the main suppliers of inputs from which we will buy the essentials for our experience.
  • 10:00 – 12:00 We arrive at our workshop where the experience begins, first a brief explanation of the utensils to use and finally begins the preparation of the main dish.
  • 12:00 – 14:00 At the end of the workshop we can start with the preparation of the beverage that we want to accompany our meal and we finish the experience.

OUR PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  • Informative talk: A day before the service, a meeting is held at the hotel where we will have a complete orientation about the experience.
  • Personalized groups: The groups are small and personalized to provide a better shared experience.
  • Guided tour: A guided tour of the San Pedro market to learn about supplies.
  • Cook guide: A professional chef to guide us through the preparation process.
  • Complete equipment: Kitchenware and bar that we will use for the preparation of the main course and cocktail.

OUR PROGRAM DOES NOT INCLUDE:

  • Transportation: Transportation from the hotel to the experience is not included.
  • Extra expenses: Some expenses such as purchase of handicrafts, clothes or drinks, are also not included in the tour. Tips are not included and are voluntary.
  • Travel insurance: This is extremely important to enjoy a safe trip.
