ITINERARY
Pick up from your hotel in the city center. The first point is the Mirador de los Volcanes, whose height offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Andean apus revered by the Incas, which today protect the White City: the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu.
Then we will go to the Añashuayco Quarry. Sillar stone is still being fully exploited, which is why it has been preserved in a huge canyon with gigantic white walls, about 30 meters high. The master builders of the area explain their carving techniques and exhibit the various uses of stone.
Our next destination is the Quebrada de Culebrillas, an ashlar quarry that is not yet in operation, located between the districts of Uchumayo and Cerro Colorado. A 20-minute walk will allow us to observe the enigmatic petroglyphs engraved on the walls of the ravine.
Returning to the city we will observe the Apachetas, stone structures arranged in a conical structure on the banks of the Inca Trail, as an offering. These are considered by the inhabitants of the place an ancestral custom that causes a mystical sensation.
