Short on time but want to experience the Inca Trail? Then consider our short 2 Day/1 Night Inca Trail trek, which involves a walk of 16 km to Machu Picchu, passing through spectacular landscapes of mountains and cloud forest. You’ll also visit Inca archaeological sites along the route, such as Chachabamba, Choquesuysuy and the amazing Winaywayna Complex. Winaywayna, located at 2,700 meters, features impressive agricultural terraces, temples, shrines, and ritual water channels. Nature will also be all around you: hummingbirds, quetzals and cockerels.
Then, of course, you’ll have a full-day tour of Machu Picchu on Day 2, ably guided by our expert guides, with plenty of time to explore the site on your own, to take photographs and contemplate this magical place.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco – 104 km – Wiñaywayna – Aguas Calientes
Our journey starts early in the morning. After our arrival at KM 104 by train, the Royal Inca Trail begins with a hike to Chachabamba (2270m/7448f), where our guide will inform us about the previous function of this archaeological site. Thereafter, we will reach Wiñayhuayna (2650m/8694f), the most important archaeological site besides Machu Picchu. After that our trail continues towards the Sun Gate “Inti Punku”, a nice viewpoint from which we can enjoy the nightfall on Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f). Since we have to continue our walk to our hotel in Aguas Calientes, we will only spend little time in the sanctuary of Machu Picchu on the first day.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)
After breakfast we take the bus to arrive at the Inca city of Machu Picchu, where we will have a journey of about 3 hours in the Inca city, visiting the main sites and precincts , plazas, fountains Sacred Temples agricultural and urban sector. After the guided tour you have free time to take pictures. Then we will meet the rest of the group to take the bus back to the village of Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon return to Cusco by train.

Huayna Picchu: The visit to Huayna Picchu needs to be booked long time in advance as there are only limited spaces. We charge an additional US $ 65.00.
